In Memory of Caroline Parkinson
Caroline Parkinson, 24 December 1958 – 4 March 2025
We are saddened to share the news that Caroline Parkinson passed away on Tuesday, 4 March 2025, at St Michael’s Hospice in Hereford after a long illness, which she faced with strength and stoicism.
Caroline was bilingual and a dual national, educated at the Lycée Français de Charles de Gaulle in London. After a career in governmental administration in London, she moved to Presteigne, Mid-Wales in 2001 and later settled in Rhayader in 2006.
Together with her husband John, Caroline enjoyed life in their cottage, surrounded by the beautiful countryside and their much-loved animals—all of whom Caroline considered part of the family. She had a deep enthusiasm for Wales, its culture and language, and had learned to speak Welsh.
Caroline was an active and valued member of the TEDct community. She served as editor of the TEDct Newsletter during 2013 and 2014, and her thoughtful contributions to the committee were deeply appreciated.
She will be fondly remembered for her warmth, dedication, and the gentle passion she brought to everything she did.
