TED Patient Event: Global Success
On 5 September 2025, an engaging online event for people living with thyroid eye disease (TED) brought together patients, carers and healthcare professionals from around the world. The meeting, held from 9.30 am to 1.30 pm, was organised in collaboration with the British Thyroid Foundation, TEDCt and The Thyroid Trust.
Expert speakers shared insights on all aspects of TED, from clinical management to personal experiences. Participants engaged in a lively online chat and submitted questions via the Q&A function, many of which were answered by the presenters. A full record of the Q&A is available via the provided link.
Attendees praised the event for its informative and accessible content:
- “Wonderful variety of talks, interesting and engaging, on a good level for the audience.”
- “I have had TED since 2019 and all of the information was extremely helpful.”
- “The talks struck a good balance between clinical terminology and lay language, helping us communicate better with friends, family and healthcare providers.”
- “A well thought out programme. I attended as a clinician hoping for more information to share.”
The event highlighted not only the value of accessible information for those living with TED but also the need for greater awareness among medical professionals about the challenges faced by patients.

TEDCt would like to thank the British Thyroid Foundation for leading the event, and The Thyroid Trust, along with all participants and speakers, for helping make the day a global success and fostering a supportive online community.
Based on the success of this event, we hope to be producing many more such events in the future, providing information and support to people affected by TED.
