Volunteer

TEDct is run entirely by volunteers, from people whose lives have been affected by TED, to medical professionals. These people are crucial to the success of TEDct, both present and future.

Keep your eyes on this page to check for any specific volunteering roles.

Committee Members

Important decisions on the way in which TEDct is run are made by its committee. Some of the committee’s members are medical practitioners, some former patients.

We’re seeking new members who can commit to a handful of days per year, bring new ideas and a fresh impetus to TEDct to ensure its future.

Work undertaken by the committee

  • Meeting three or four times a year, with some meetings by telephone conference call.
  • Attending practitioner-led events
  • Organising Patient Information Meetings
  • Manning the helpline
  • Getting information out to patients and medics
  • Administering the membership and updating the website
  • Producing the newsletter and managing TEDct’s email traffic.

What’s in it for you?

In return for your time and efforts, we pay all reasonable expenses incurred on behalf of TEDct and you would have the satisfaction of knowing that you’re not only furthering TEDct’s cause, but also helping all of its members derive the best possible benefit from it.

How to become a volunteer

If you’re a TEDct member and you’d like to contribute, we’d be delighted to hear from you. Please send a CV and brief covering email, explaining why and how you think you could help us, to info@tedct.org.uk
